Here's another set of antique French doors you'll be able to enjoy when you come to the French Door cafe - these are from a buffet from the same area our family is from in France: Charente-Maritime, just North of Bordeaux.
Buffets were used to keep dishes and glassware in the era before "cuisine equipées", or kitchens with built-ins. I *think* this is also merisier (wood from wild cherry trees), though it could be from other traditional woods in the region, like pear or apple tree: do we have any experts in the audience?
